<Not sure what .wav format is.> it's an uncompressed sound format--usually people make mp3s from .wav (pc) or .aiff (mac) to save space. instead of a 5 meg file for a song 5 mins or less, we're talking about 10x that--50megs for a 5 min song. these days mac & pc can play both formats, but originally they were tied to their respective platforms.

I am glad to find this tribe. I thought I was all alone out here. I would love a copy of the live gig. Not sure what .wav format is. Can I download that? The scene in SF in the 90's was cool.

I got an old school demo tape from a friend in SF. Yeah, cassette that is, hehe. They had this acid jazz band called "Invisible Afro" back in the early 90's. They recorded 4 tracks and that was it after a few improvisational live shows. Their big claim to fame was the harmonica player, Eddie Gordon, of Sanford and Son theme song fame. Kind of fun to hear that all live sound with the dj samples thrown over top again. I will record it in .wav format if anyone wants to hear it too.

Jazzy, but not really acid jazz, Mirva's 'We're Here Now' (they're out of Sweden). Think they're on MySpace. Saw them play in Gothenburg. Also Ida Olsson's great despite the lyrics being in Swedish. Worth having a look.

i don't know for sure, but i wouldn't be surprised since ?uestlove and mcbride grew up and went to school together. That also would explain that Philadelphia Experiment album with those two and Uri Caine on keyboards.

I've never posted before, so I don't know if this is reasonable, but i've been geeking out to these two albums and had to share with someone: 1. Christian McBride - Live at Tonic ; Yeah, they're jazz guys, and play a lot of different things, but there's some major funky stuff going on here. 2. King Curtis - Live at the Fillmore West ; Bernard Purdie on drums, great googily moogily, 'nuff said. Anyone else have some good records spinning right now?
