I've been having fun mixing bossa nova into my daytime and early evening chill sets recently. Some particular favorites include Nicola Conte, and Soulstance. I also like in mix in Ian Pooley, who does some wonderful Brazilian stuff as well.
[My chill sets also contain generous doses of acid jazz, trip-hop, and ambient dub.]

Re: bossa nova anyone?
Sun, November 2, 2003 - 4:22 PMI love Bosa Nova. Especially Brazillian-Type Housy-Jazz... You know what I mean? Do you spin stuff like this? If you do.. Can you send me a demo cd please. I could quite possibly use your tallents. -

Re: bossa nova anyone?
Wed, November 5, 2003 - 5:16 AMi'm much more of a samba guy--big drums!!
having played at acid-jazz parties that were DANCE clubs, i'm having a hard time letting the music (i.e., acid-jazz) "go gently into that good night" of chill-out... bossa nova's too much in that direction for me--not enough booty-shakin'!

Re: bossa nova anyone? I love bossa grooves.
Sun, November 30, 2003 - 8:12 PMI love bossa grooves. I keep finding new music with bossa-like elements and am always looking for more. I just produced a song called waterfront that is sort of hybrid between bossa and dance. soundreal.info/music/mp3/waterfront.m3u
Its seems producers like Thievery Corp, and Kruder and Dorfmeister are using it more and more. -
